TravelFlow lets you create your own account if you are booking travel for yourself rather than through a company. Signing up gives you a private traveller account: you can search and book flights, hotels and cars, keep your booking history in one place and download your travel documents. This article covers the sign-up form, what happens immediately afterwards, and when you should not use it.
Getting to the Sign-Up Form
On the sign-in screen, click Sign up at the bottom, under “Don't have an account?”. You can also go straight to /auth/register. The page is headed Create Account with the subtitle “Join TravelFlow today”, and has a Back to Home link in the top-left corner.
Filling In the Form
- Full Name — at least two characters. This becomes the name shown in the top navigation bar and on your profile.
- Email Address — this is your sign-in username and cannot be changed later, so use an address you will keep.
- Phone Number (Optional) — in international form, for example
+27821234567. It is stored on your profile and is pre-filled if you ever set up two-factor authentication. - Password and Confirm Password — the two must match or you will see “Passwords don't match”.
- Click Create Account. The button shows “Creating account...” while it works.
Password Requirements
The form itself will not submit a password shorter than six characters, but the account is only created if your password also passes the platform's password policy. That policy requires:
- At least the configured minimum length — 8 characters by default
- At least one uppercase letter
- At least one lowercase letter
- At least one number
- At least one special character, when the administrator has that rule switched on (it is on by default)
If the password falls short, the account is not created and you get the specific reason — for example “Password must contain at least one uppercase letter” or “Password must be at least 8 characters long”. Fix the password and submit again.
If Something Goes Wrong
- An account with this email already exists. — you have signed up before. Go back to the sign-in page and use Forgot password? if you cannot remember the password.
- Invalid email address — the address is malformed.
- Network error. Please check your connection and try again. — the request never reached the service. Nothing was created, so you can safely retry.
- If you start typing and then click away, an Unsaved Changes dialog asks whether to Stay on Page or Leave Page.
What Happens Next
There is no confirmation email and no approval step. On success you see “Account created successfully!” and are signed in immediately, landing on the travel search page at /private/search, where you can search flights, hotels and cars. That search page is also where you are taken every time you sign in from then on.
Finding Your Way Around
The private traveller navigation bar runs across the top of every page:
- Search — start a new booking.
- Bookings — a menu with My Bookings and History.
- Explore — a menu with Deals and Destinations.
- Documents — vouchers, invoices and other travel documents issued to you.
- Support — raise and track support tickets.
On the right of the bar are the light/dark theme toggle and the notification bell, both always visible, followed on wider screens by your name (which opens your profile) and the sign-out icon. On a phone, Search, Documents, Support and the Bookings and Explore menus move behind the hamburger button, along with Sign Out.
First Things to Do
- Open your profile from your name in the top bar and check that your name and phone number are correct. Add a phone number now if you skipped it during sign-up.
- Add a profile photo if you want one — the camera button on your avatar.
- Set the theme you prefer with the sun/moon toggle. It is remembered on that device.
- Run a test search from Search so you know where the booking flow starts before you need it for real.
