Two Banking screens do the actual work of tying bank transactions to your records: Accounting > Banking > Auto Reconciliation matches them in bulk, and Accounting > Banking > Bank Feeds lets you match them one at a time. Both save their results, unlike the Match button on the Reconciliation screen.
Automated Reconciliation
The Automated Reconciliation screen has Dashboard, Transactions, Rules and Alerts tabs. Click Run Reconciliation to compare every unmatched incoming (credit) bank transaction against your unpaid invoices. Each candidate is scored:
- Exact amount match 50 points; within 1% 40 points; within 5% 20 points.
- Invoice number found in the bank reference or description, 35 points.
- Customer name found in the reference or description, 15 points.
- Payment within 30 days of the invoice 10 points; within 60 days 5 points.
A best score of 85 or more is matched automatically and saved. Between 50 and 84 the top three candidates are stored as suggestions and the transaction is flagged Needs Review. Below 50 nothing is recorded and the transaction stays Unmatched. The run reports how many were auto-matched and how many need review; if there is nothing to work with it tells you to upload invoices or bank statements first.
Outgoing (debit) transactions are not matched by this run — only incoming payments are compared to invoices. The Rules and Alerts tabs are placeholders: no rules or alerts are loaded into them.
Bank Feeds
The Bank Feeds screen lists your bank accounts, their balances and when they were last synced, plus every bank transaction with a matched, suggested, unmatched or ignored status. Tabs cover Overview, Transactions, Reconcile and Rules.
Connect Bank records a bank account in TravelFlow — bank name, account name, account number (only the last four digits are stored), branch code and account type. This creates the account record for reconciliation; it does not establish a live link to your bank.
Accounting > Banking > Bank Statements.Matching One Transaction
Open a transaction's manual match dialog to see candidate documents: unpaid invoices for incoming money, plus recent journal entries, sorted by how close their amount is to the bank line. Choosing one saves the match against the transaction.
Accepting a stored suggestion, or ignoring a transaction, currently only changes the list in your browser and is lost on refresh. Use the manual match dialog when you need the match to stick.
Categorisation Rules
The Rules tab says custom matching rules are not available yet. There is no way to add a rule: nothing would store it, and matching would not use it.
