Auto Reconciliation and Bank Feeds

Bank statements are uploaded on the Bank Statement Upload screen at Accounting > Banking > Bank Statements. This is the only place a statement file is actually parsed and loaded — the Import Statement button on the Reconciliation screen simply sends you here.

Supported Files

You can upload CSV, TXT, XLSX, XLS, OFX, QFX and QIF files up to 100 MB. TXT files are read as delimited text and QFX is handled as OFX. PDF statements are not supported and are rejected with a message. Anything else is refused before it is read.

Uploading

  1. Choose the bank account the statement belongs to in the account selector. If you leave it unset the system tries to match the account itself.
  2. Drag the file onto the drop zone, or tap it to browse.
  3. Wait for the preview. The file is parsed first and nothing is saved at this point.
  4. Review the parsed rows, then confirm the import. Rows are written and the import history refreshes.

Leave Skip duplicate transactions ticked when you are re-uploading an overlapping date range — duplicate lines are detected and counted rather than loaded twice. The result is reported as a success or as a partial import when only some rows could be loaded.

Import History

The page keeps a history of uploads with a status of completed, partial, failed or processing, plus statistics including how many duplicates were skipped. Use it to confirm that a statement loaded before you start reconciling.

What Happens Next

Loaded bank transactions become available to Accounting > Banking > Auto Reconciliation and Accounting > Banking > Bank Feeds, where they can be matched to invoices and ledger records. See the Auto Reconciliation and Bank Feeds article.

Tip: Export from your bank in CSV or OFX where you have the choice. Both carry the date, description, reference and amount columns the parser needs, and OFX avoids the date-format ambiguity that trips up some CSV exports.
