Accounting Dashboard

The reports library is at Accounting > Financial > Reports. Each report is a card with a Generate button; there is no separate export step, and no sub-pages per report. You can search the cards and filter them by category (financial, tax, management, compliance).

Available Reports

  • Balance Sheet — assets, liabilities and equity at a date. Downloads a PDF.
  • Income Statement — revenue, cost of sales and expenses for a period. Downloads a PDF.
  • Cash Flow Statement — operating, investing and financing movements. Downloads a PDF.
  • Trial Balance — every account with its debit or credit balance. Downloads a PDF.
  • VAT Return — VAT201 figures. Downloads a text file; the green button on the card exports the SARS eFiling CSV.
  • Aged Debtors — outstanding customer invoices by age, one row per customer with the largest balance first. Aged Creditors — what the posted ledger shows owed to each supplier, aged by days since posting because journal lines carry no due date; a supplier paid ahead shows below zero, and amounts that name no supplier are listed together as Supplier not stated. Text files.
  • Bank Reconciliation Report — the status, balances and matched and unmatched counts of recent reconciliations. Text file.
  • Commission Report — commission and revenue by consultant for the period. Text file.
  • Budget vs Actual — listed on the page, but generating it currently produces only a placeholder file.

The cards advertise PDF and Excel formats, but only the balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement and trial balance produce a PDF. The rest download plain text, and no report produces an Excel file. Deeper analysis lives on Accounting > Financial > Advanced Reports and Accounting > Financial > Financial Tracking.

Choosing the Period

One dropdown controls the period for every report: Current Month, Last Month, Current Quarter, Current Year or Custom Range. There are no start and end date inputs.

Only two of the five options work as named. Current Month and Last Month generate the month you expect. Current Quarter, Current Year and Custom Range all produce a full current-year report (1 January to 31 December), without warning. Check the period printed on the report before you circulate it.

What the Figures Are Built From

The balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement and trial balance read posted transaction records only. Drafts and entries still pending approval are excluded, so post everything for the period first.

Known issue — empty or understated statements. These four reports total debit and credit fields that the transaction form does not currently populate, and they never read manual journal entries at all. In practice a generated balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement or trial balance can come out blank or materially understated. Until this is fixed, verify the numbers against the Ledger and the aging reports before relying on them for management or statutory reporting.

PDF Content and Other Actions

Generated PDFs carry your company name from company settings in the header, the report period in the body, and the generation date (no time) in the footer. Each card also has a schedule button; it acknowledges the click but no scheduled run is created, so generate reports manually when you need them.

Tip: Run the trial balance first. If it does not balance, the balance sheet and income statement built from the same data will be wrong too.
