Your Basket and Checkout

TravelFlow takes card payments through PayU. For a private traveller the payment is an authorization hold rather than a purchase: the money is reserved on your card and only taken when a consultant confirms your booking.

Paying at Checkout

On the Checkout page, Pay Online (hold) creates your booking request and then opens the card form in place. There is no redirect to a hosted PayU page — the form is part of TravelFlow, and PayU's browser library converts your card details into a one-time token before anything is sent to the server. Fill in:

  1. Card Number — Up to 16 digits, spaced automatically as you type.
  2. Cardholder Name — Entered in capitals.
  3. Month and Year — The card expiry.
  4. CVV — The 3 or 4 digit security code.

The submit button reads Authorize R <amount>, and the note below it repeats the rule: “You won't be charged until your consultant confirms the booking. The amount is held on your card until then.” Once the hold succeeds your basket is cleared and you are returned to your bookings.

The R on that button is fixed text, not the currency of your basket. If the Checkout Total is shown in another currency, the amount on the button is the same number in that other currency — trust the Summary box, not the symbol on the button.

What You Can Pay With

Credit and debit cards only. There is no instant-EFT or bank-transfer option in the traveller payment flow, and TravelFlow does not store cards — there is no saved-card list, so the details are entered fresh for each payment. If you would rather not pay by card, use Forward to Consultant at checkout and arrange payment with your consultant.

Security and 3-D Secure

The card form is labelled Secured by PayU. PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant. If your bank requires 3-D Secure, the browser sends you to the bank's verification page and back again to finish the authorization. That is the only redirect in the flow.

Tip: If a payment is declined, check that the card is enabled for online purchases and that your bank is not blocking the 3-D Secure step. The red message that appears between the CVV field and the submit button is the reason returned by the gateway.

When the Price Changes

If the supplier price moves before your booking is confirmed, the original hold is released and Bookings > My Bookings shows a Card authorisation needed banner naming the new amount, and an Authorise your card again panel in the booking's details. Click Authorise again in either to place a fresh hold for that amount. The same button appears when your hold was released while the booking is still open — it reached its review date, or the supplier refused the first attempt. You are still not charged until your consultant confirms.

Records and Refunds

There is no payment-history screen for private travellers. Invoices appear under Documents > Invoices, showing the invoice number, date, total and status — the card used is not recorded there. The Payment Status field in a booking's details panel shows whether that booking is paid or pending.

Refunds can only be started by a consultant or an administrator; there is no traveller-facing refund button. Ask through the booking chat, or submit a support ticket in the Payment Issue or Cancellation category. How long a refund takes to appear on your statement is set by your bank, not by TravelFlow.
